US President Donald Trump insinuated that Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg should go to an anger management class on Monday.

Trump was asked by a reporter if he had a message for Thunberg, who was arrested by the Israeli Navy after she and several other activists attempted to travel to Gaza with an aid flotilla.

“She’s a strange person,” Trump said. “She’s an angry person. I don’t know if it’s real anger, it’s hard to believe, actually. But I saw what happened. She’s certainly different

“I think she has to go to an anger management class. That’s my primary recommendation.”

The reporter then asked Trump if Thunberg was really kidnapped by Israel, as all flotilla members claimed they had been.

Thunberg’s flotilla

Thunberg and 11 other activists who were aboard the Gaza Freedom Flotilla arrived at the Ashdod port on Monday night. They were escorted by Shayetet 13, the IDF’s elite navy unit.

According to Israeli media, the passengers were given the option to view footage from Hamas’s October 7 attacks on Israel, but they were not forced to watch it.

The IDF intercepted the Madleen early Monday morning at around 3 a.m., The Jerusalem Post reported. Sailors boarded the ship and detained all passengers after the flotilla activists ignored repeated warnings to turn back from breaching Israel’s naval blockade of the Gaza Strip.

Since Hamas carried out a coup against the Palestinian Authority and took over Gaza in 2007, Israel’s position has been that a naval blockade of Gaza is legal since Hamas is a terror group in a state of war with Israel.

Jerusalem also argues that it is necessary to block Iran from smuggling in high-quality missiles, such as those the Yemeni Houthis and other Iranian proxies possess.

The activists, including French-Palestinian European Parliament Member Rima Hassan and Game of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham, were trying to raise awareness of their opposition to Israel’s invasion of Gaza, its blocking of certain international groups from directly distributing food aid in Gaza, and the naval blockade in general.
